چکیده
Pulping in agro-waste processes are known to affect the chemical constituents of materials obtained. In this study, activated carbons (ACs) were prepared using precursors based on rice straw, husks and bagasse. The composition these was first determined order study influence components each sorption properties ACs ash content by calcination as main component present ashes is silica, which play a role processes. surface chemistry assessed ammonia thermo-desorption (NH3-TPD), before being tested for carbon dioxide capture. obtained from bagasse capable capturing up 14 wt % at atmospheric pressure 25 °C, regardless pulping process applied precursor. Rice-husks AC gave similar result when precursor pulped with 12% soda solution. Rice straw less interesting terms CO2 These differences rationalized textural properties.

متن کاملExperimental and Theoretical Study on the CH4 Adsorption by Granular and Microporous Activated Carbon
Adsorbed natural gas (ANG) by Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) has been widely investigated as an alternative to CNG and LNG technologies for storage and transportation of natural gas. In the present work, a theoretical and experimental study was conducted to accurately determine the amount of adsorption of CH4 by GAC. To carry out the experiments, the volumetric method was used up to 4 MPa at c...
متن کاملAdsorption of acid dye onto activated carbons prepared from agricultural waste bagasse by ZnCl2 activation.
A series of activated carbons were prepared from agricultural waste sugarcane bagasse by chemical activation with zinc chloride (ZnCl2) as an activating agent at 500 degrees C and 0.5 h soaking time. The Langmuir surface area and total pore volume were used to estimate the average pore diameter of the carbon products. The values of the surface area and pore volume increased linearly with increa...
متن کاملEquilibrium and Kinetic Studies on Lead (II) Adsorption by Sugarcane Bagasse Derived Activated Carbon (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Municipal and industrial wastewater contain a lot of contaminants. The major contaminants of concern are heavy metals. Heavy metals are known to be toxic, non-biodegradable and have a long half-life. The release of untreated wastewater containing heavy metals can cause serious problems to human, plants and animals. In this study, activated carbon was developed from sugarcane bagasse and its eff...
